There is something profound that happens within us when we realize our true essence; a component, if not the most important component of us is that we are energy. I say we, as in you and I, as human beings on this planet but also as everything on this beautiful planet Earth and outwardly from there. Yes, everything from the Earth, to the people and animals, to you got it…even your kitchen table. Woah.
I attended a workshop where I learned more about energy and techniques to balance our own energy which then allows us to heal ourselves. Now let me say that I believe there is a place for all healing modalities- holistic or medical. However, I am always in search of ways to be proactive instead of reactive, to learn and expand my awareness, to create my own box of tools to pull from whenever the occasion arises, so I can essentially find what is best for me in all areas of my life, health or otherwise. I want to live my truth, not the truth of someone else. After all, it is me who knows what is best for me, as it is you who knows that is best for you. Period.
This concept of universal energy is a huge topic and I am not an expert by any means, nor will I ever claim to be one. There will always be more to learn and I look forward to growing and expanding my awareness. But I do want to share some confirmations I had as a result of this workshop and my experiences in my own spiritual journey.
We are a far more complex and powerful species then the vast majority of logical minds can grasp or perhaps will ever grasp in this lifetime. We are so much more than our flesh and bones; energy is running through us every second of everyday and is all around us in different forms. Just because many of us can’t see it with our eyes, it is very much there and you have the ability to tap into it, feel it and change it, if you need to. When you spend some time slowing down your logical, human mind (i.e. through mediation), there is an intuitive knowing and sensing of this energy; and it’s amazing! There’s a sense of calmness, peace and an understanding that that state of mind is tapping into the bigger part of us, the real us beneath our solid, tangible selves.
Another confirmation that I have had is our ability of control in our lives. We are not puppets on strings that are being pulled by some other force or person. Yes, there will be circumstances that are part of our experience that we do not have control over or come unexpectedly; however, we have control over how we are going to feel, what we are going to perceive and what our actions (if any) are going to be. We may not be able to change said circumstance but you have the choice on how you handle it. And the better handle you have on yourself energetically, the better you will feel physically and mentally, which will then help you make decisions that are in your highest good.
Perception is powerful and your perception of the world at large and your personal world, is going to be affected by how you feel. We all have been there, where we aren’t feeling good or had a bad day, for example, and then when we look at your lives, it feels like everything just plain sucks. On the flip side, when you’re in a good mood, feeling on top of you game so to speak, life’s great, you feel like you can take on the world. Your reality is your perception. “The state of your life is nothing more than reflection of your state of mind.”
The more balanced your energy is, the more you put your energy and focus on to everything you like, the less the unwanted, “negative” circumstances are going to show up in your life. And when they do, you will reach into your tool box and know exactly, what to do, from a mental and action standpoint. Some times, you don’t have to “do” anything. Doing nothing can and is a choice. A lot of the work is upstairs in that beautifully, complicated mind of ours. Opposites do not attract; like is attracted to like. The more energetically balanced, positive person you are, you will receive more of those positive experiences. This is called the Law of Attraction (if you’ve made it this far into this blog entry, you probably already knew that) 🙂 and the essence of whatever you are holding your attention to will continue to be drawn into your life.
I have put a lot of ideas out there about a topic that is very broad and branches out into and connects to many other topics. So before I begin to write my first novel, I am going to end this entry here. Okay, maybe here…Oh, alright here…Orrr…Just kidding! All kidding aside, I have posted in previous blogs about energy which you can find under my ‘documentaries’ section if you would like to learn more. For more information on how to balance your own energies, check out Energy Medicine with Donna Eden. I think those would be a good start.
Until next time,
*Side note: I will try make my next entry not so far apart from this one (in terms of time, not topics). I was dying to write but was suffering from a bad case of writer’s brain farts. Ew. 😉
